GROTON, Massachusetts —John Warren Geils Jr., the artist known professionally as J. Geils and part of the rock group The J. Geils Band, was found dead in his Groton, Massachusetts home, according to WCVB in Boston.
Sad. So Sad. It was the 70's when I first heard the band. Loved their greasy sound. A part of my youth is gone. RIP J. Sad day. Really.

RIP. So sad to hear about the passing of J. Geils. Iconic songs that bring back fond memories of the 1970s/80s. Question: does anyone remember the band playing a concert at an outside venue in Connecticut around 1980? I'm not sure, but I think it may have been at the Pinecrest Country Club, but I can't find this in the tour lists posted online. I seem to recall that the power cut off during the middle of "Just Can't Wait."
ReplyDeleteyes I was there. I still follow the band when they played reunion tours and go to peter Wolf shows frequently. Terribly upset to hear of the passing of J.Giels.life has changed as I know it.
